Laura Haraldson In honor of local mailman Joe Stekler and his 35 years of service to the neighborhood, the residents of Hawthorne Ponds gathered December 3 to honor a job well-done. He was known for the dog treats he carried with him and for his attention to detail, even going so far as to get back out on his route after already completing it for the day when a vacationer arrived home earlier than their mail was set to start up again.
