Bye Bye Shop Says Hello to State Fair

Plymouth-based business will debut new organic children’s products at the Grandstand.

As a Minnesotan and a Plymouth entrepreneur, Kelly Lucente doesn’t need to be told how valuable a booth at the Minnesota State Fair is. So when she received a coveted invite this spring to display her Bye Bye Shop children’s products at booth No. 84 on the main floor, center aisle of the Grandstand, excitement struck immediately. And it isn’t leaving any time soon.

“I’m still reeling from receiving this opportunity,” says Lucente, who will be at the booth with her family August 25-September 5. “I had heard there was, on average, a nine-year waiting list.  It really is surreal and I'm treating it as such.”

Lucente is taking advantage of the state-wide platform to debut her two new organic products, Hello Slumber™—an organic linen spray crafted with essential oils known to help aid sleep—and Hello Happy™—a spray that contains oils that lifts moods and brightens spirits.

“It's my intention to expand the line and there really couldn't be a better forum to determine where there is interest,” says Lucente. “Obviously, I'm anxious to get the opinion of 2.3 million consumers. It will truly be the biggest focus group I'vKelly Lucentee ever been a part of!

Bye Bye’s two newest additions join a popular product line that already includes Bye Bye Monster®—the best-selling book to help children who struggle with fear at bedtime—Bye Bye Germs™—organic anti-viral spray—and Bye Bye Bugs™—organic insect repellent. Bye Bye products, designed for kids ages 3-14, are available in exclusive locations nationwide and online (

At the Bye Bye booth, visitors will have the opportunity to learn about the product line, get a mini “organic” lesson and learn about the dangers of household products. Barley (the star of Bye Bye Monster) will be there, as will Lucente, the author of Bye Bye Monster, with autographed copies of the book.

“Many young entrepreneurs reach out to me for advice,” Lucente says. “The outcome of my Minnesota State Fair experience will be a great story to share with them as I continue to attempt to pay it forward.”
