Feeling unsure about leaving your kids alone during the day for the first time this summer? Prepare them, and ease your own mind with a “Home Alone” workshop hosted by the Plymouth Fire Department. This helpful workshop will teach children ages 8–10 how to respond in the event of an emergency through a variety of safety scenarios and issues led by Plymouth firefighters. Children will work interactively with the firefighters to learn about crime prevention in the home, fire escape plans, severe weather awareness and even Internet safety. Registration encouraged. $5. 6:30–7:30 p.m.
Wayzata High School has hosted an Empty Bowls event for the past 20 years. For a suggested donation of $10, patrons will be able to choose a bowl out of nearly 1,000, each handmade by Wayzata students, then enjoy a dinner of steaming soup. Donations benefit Interfaith Outreach and Community Partners in the fight against hunger in the Twin Cities.
Trillium Woods, a resort-style senior living community, is hosting its annual shredding event to celebrate Earth Day. Clean your home in an eco-friendly way by bringing outdated documents and other paperwork to the Trillium Woods Information Center.
Each year we receive thousands of votes from dedicated Plymouth Magazine readers highlighting their favorite people, places and services in an online readers' survey.
