Full Moon Snowshoe with S’mores

Enjoy the winter night with your family as you venture out into French Regional Park. Don’t worry about the chill in your bones. Twin Cities Snow Shuffle

The biggest snowshoe race in Minnesota is brought to you right here in the Twin Cities. Participants come from near and far to participate in this challenging trek, open to hikers of all ages and abilities. Races include a 10K, 5K, kids’ fun run and a 5K dog walk. For serious snowshoers, the Twin Cities Snow Shuffle is a regional qualifier for the US Snowshoe Association’s 2015 Dion National Snowshoe Championship race. Whether you’re racing, walking or just cheering on the competitors, this event celebrates the beauty of a Minnesota winter. $20–$40.

Laughter Yoga

The holiday season can become pretty stressful. Unwind and let off that stress with some laughter at Laughter Yoga with The Yoga Studio. Many baby-boomers worry about the care needs for an elderly parent.  Their parents may live with the uncertainty of chronic illness and disability and have a whole host of planning issues.  However, either caregivers are overwhelmed with conflicting information or don't know where to seek help.  Such a lack of information, or the wealth of conflicting information, adds to their anxiety about caring for an elderly parent.  Indeed, it takes a team to protect an elderly person and every aspect of planning should be addressed.

State Arbor Month Celebration and Minnesota Tree Climbing Championships

This year the DNR is celebrating Arbor Day and Arbor Month by encouraging families to play in natural settings such as your backyard, a nearby woodlot, or forested area.

The 2014 State Arbor Month Celebration will be at Oak Hill Park in St. Louis Park. The event will give families a chance to play with nature, while watching some of the best tree climbers in the state compete at the Minnesota Tree Climbing Championship.

Bike Rodeo

This family event at Golden Valley city hall will test kids’ safety skills as they navigate their bikes through a short obstacle course supervised by police personnel. After the obstacle fun, families will have the opportunity to receive free safety checks for their bicycles, enjoy refreshments and enter a door-prize drawing. 763.531.5151.
