April 19 event offers fashion, food and philanthropy

Girls, Glamour & Giving raises funds for local struggling families

Interfaith Outreach & Community Partners presents Girls, Glamour & Giving — an evening of fashion, food and philanthropy sponsored by Schuler Shoes — on Thursday, April 19, 2018, at International Market Square in Minneapolis. All 400 glamorous attendees will enjoy a fashion show featuring fresh looks for spring, shopping from unique vendors, hors d’oeuvres, a sit-down dinner and a chance to win a celebrity-donated purse. A program participant will talk about his/her experience as a Summer Leader camper, made possible by the generosity of event guests and donors.

Local television personality Kim Insley, formerly with KARE 11 TV / Tegna, will emcee the event. With more than 20 years’ experience as a multimedia news journalist, anchor, reporter, producer and writer, Kim will bring her passion for Interfaith Outreach’s work to life and guide guests through the evening’s festivities.

Proceeds support local struggling families and individuals in key impact areas including housing and neighborhoods, education and youth, and more. The event will highlight the Interfaith Outreach Summer Leaders youth program for kids grades K-6 living at nine affordable apartment communities. A key part of the organization’s Neighborhood Program, children get to experience Summer Leaders at no cost to their families. These planned activities provide safe places for school-age children to explore and grow when school is not in session. The camp focuses on social, recreational, learning and skill building activities in a safe and fun environment.
