Winter Maintenance Open House

Community members interested in learning how Plymouth balances environmental stewardship with citywide snow and ice removal are invited to attend a Winter Maintenance Open House 2–5 p.m. January 23 at the Plymouth Maintenance Facility.
Held this year in recognition of Winter Salt Awareness Week, January 26–30, the open house offers community members the opportunity to learn about the city’s winter maintenance practices, explore snowplows and other anti-icing equipment and tour the salt brine-making building. Attendees may also take a ride in a snowplow at the event, and children may enter a drawing to win a ride to school in a plow truck. Staff will share the city’s approach to effectively using salt while minimizing its negative impacts on the environment.
The event is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be available while supplies last.
