Since 1972, Music in Plymouth has been a community celebration that usually falls right before Independence Day. The free concert—performed by the Minnesota Orchestra at the Hilde Performance Center—is attended by thousands annually.
As seen in past Music in Plymouth posters and programs, Independence Day is often a theme for the event, especially during years with national milestones, such as the United States bicentennial. In 2026, the U.S. will celebrate the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, and this year’s brochures, memorabilia and posters will likewise reflect this historic milestone.
