West Suburban Grief Coalition Annual Community Memorial Service

All community members are welcome to attend West Suburban Grief Coalition’s (WSGC) Service of Remembrance, held annually on the Thursday evening a week before Thanksgiving. This service, conducted in partnership with our host church and other Coalition churches’ clergy, allows community grievers of all beliefs to come together to remember and honor their lost loved ones in an evening of meaningful messages, music and moments to relate together.
The 2026 Memorial Service will begin promptly at 6 p.m. in the Messiah Church sanctuary. Attendees are encouraged to arrive at 5:30 p.m., and not later than 5:45 p.m., in order to park and register before the service begins. Attendees will be given a candle to use in our collective candlelight service, representing their lost loved one(s), and then are free to take the candle home with them. Please join us for this very special evening, whether you have a relationship with WSGC, Messiah, or no church at all.
The service is free of charge to all. An optional dinner will be served after the service, with diners paying a $20 per-person charge to participate. Dinner reservations must be received and paid for by November 5. Contact Lisa Seward Perry at 612.220.8071 to reserve a meal.
