This year’s tournament will draw 400 top club basketball teams from 17 states to Plymouth.
For basketball fans, the Prep Battle at the Lakes is not to be missed.
“It’s the biggest boys tournament for club basketball in the state,” says Nick Carroll, co-founder of Prep Hoops. “This year we’ll have about 400 teams from 17 states. Players come from all over the country.”
Minnesota teams include the Minnesota Fury, Minnesota Comets, Minnesota Select, Minnesota Heat and the SW Minnesota Stars.
“It’s really the one opportunity during the calendar year where you’re guaranteed to see all of the top talents across the state under one roof,” says Carroll. “These players are the ones being recruited by the Division I schools.”
Participants from local schools include Hopkins H.S. power forward Zeke Nnaji. Nnaji is one of the top players in the country and is heading to University of Arizona next year.
