Stevie Ray’s Improv Company is raising funds for Plymouth comedian Brett Williams.
On June 4, improv comedian Brett Williams suffered a massive stroke while performing at an event in Eden Prairie. After immediate medical assistance, Brett was placed under sedation by doctors at M Health Fairview to assist his recovery.
The longtime comedian has been a member of Stevie Ray’s Improv Company troupe for over 25 years. “He has remained a steadfast member of the company and is loved by audiences across the Twin Cities and at Stevie Ray’s home at [Chanhassen Dinner Theatres], who know him well,” Chanhassen Dinner Theatres (CDT) says via press release. “Those who have had the pleasure of seeing Brett on stage know that his only goal in life is to bring a smile to everyone he meets. His heart is much bigger than any stage.”
CDT and Stevie Ray’s are set to host two Comedy Troupe shows on June 22 to help raise funds for Brett and his wife, Diane Williams. “While Brett is still in the hospital, those of us who have been entertained by him for so many years will be creating laughs to help him along,” CDT says.
Tickets are $45 per person and include light appetizers alongside the comedy cabaret/improv show. Doors open for the first show at 2 p.m., followed by the second show at 6 p.m. All of the proceeds will go to the Williams family.
Tickets can be purchased and donations are accepted at stevierays.org.
