“Evening Ski” took first place in the “Activities & Events” category of our 2018 Picture Plymouth photo contest.
Plymouth resident Shawn Christie captured the joy of twilight on the lake with his photo “Evening Ski,” which took first place in the “Activities & Events” category in our 2018 Picture Plymouth photo contest.
Christie writes, “Last August, we had relatives in town from Chicago, and we all spent the day on Medicine Lake. My son Ryan had been asking me for a nice photo of him doing a hard cut while slalom water skiing. I had some … but none in really good light. After dinner … I noticed the light was beginning to look really beautiful as we approached the golden hour. I quickly rushed the kids into the boat and that effort paid off. A nice warm light as the sun set provided the backlight for the water spray as Ryan made his hard fast cut.”
