The best place to capture a Plymouth sunset, according to Alexa Pudil, is right off of Ferndale Road and County Road 6; “it’s where this picture was also taken,” she says of her stunning place-winner in the Nature category of the annual Picture Plymouth photo contest. “I love the sky and sunsets, which inspired my photo and leads to the conclusion that even when it’s dark, the sun will always rise. The outdoors definitely inspire my photography.”
The 18-year-old senior at Wayzata High School says she’s been shooting images all of her life, but really started taking it seriously about two years ago. In addition to being inspired by nature, life in Plymouth with mom Rachel, dad Bryant and siblings Anna (16), Andrew (13) and Alana (11) get her excited about all the things to do in town.
Alexa Pudil shot this image last August, just in time to enter the 2013 Picture Plymouth. Be sure to check plymouthmag.com in August 2014 to enter this year’s photo contest.
