Join the Minnesota Brewery Running Series at Sociable Cider Werks for a fun run with a twist. Weave through the city with fellow beer enthusiasts and grab a free beer at the finish line. Visit Afton Apple Orchard for its annual apple festival. Make memories with your loved ones by participating in this super fun seasonal activity that everyone is sure to love. Take a hayride into the orchard for apple picking or just for fun. The kids will want to conquer Straw Mountain or hitch a ride on the Moo Moo Choo Choo train. As fall arrives, it’s time for Minnetonka Orchards to open its doors for the season once more. Bring the whole family and get back to Minnesota’s agrarian roots with pick-your-own apples, plus a variety of pumpkins, squash and more homegrown produce. And this year, check out Painted Creek Winery & Cidery, recently opened on the grounds of the orchards, for a glass of locally made wine or cider. Woodbury Days, the city's biggest and most beloved summer festival, returns to Ojibway Park at the end of the month for its 41st year. Organizers report that, last year, almost 300 businesses participated in the event and more than 30,000 people attended.
